Market Research Analyst

Position Overview

The Market Research Analyst position provides the necessary analytical support to the Marketing Strategist team through efficient and effective project management, secondary research, R programming and data analysis. This individual will work closely with department peers and internal clients to assist on research projects both qualitative and quantitative in nature along with the analysis of secondary research and market demand data. A successful individual in this role will be inquisitive in business insight, have the advanced data analytical ability to deal with data from a variety of sources. Currently, OODDA.COM is looking for one qualified individual to join our team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Synthesize, filter, and summarize market data from a variety of sources (such as Google Analytics, Magento1/2) in a concise and compelling manner and how insights link to overall company strategy
  • Research and timely communicate results in effective mediums per clients’ request
  • Use qualitative and quantitative methods to capture key trends in the industry and collaborate with internal communication partners to share learning
  • Produce Monthly Report for internal clients across different industries
  • Read/comprehend secondary research reports, prepare summaries of research and distribute reports to appropriate internal clients
  • Produce competitive profiles of internal clients’ top competitors across different industries
  • Thoroughly understand, compile, report, and oversee sources of market data and assess the best resources to use
  • Organize and manage files to house market research data

Required Qualifications

  • Passion and experience for doing market/industry research
  • Ability to work independently and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and multitasking skills
  • Expertise in 1st party and 3rd party research databases, tools, and applications, including (but not limited to) MRI, Kantar, Google Analytics, BIA/Kelsey, and eMarketer
  • Demonstrated success in translating research data into actionable conclusions and suggestions
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows software and technology including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of advanced data analysis software such as SPSS, R is preferable
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin is preferred

Education Background

  • Bachelor degree is required, Master’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Marketing or business related discipline is preferred

Compensation

  • Usually 1-3 month of internship and training period to start with. Salary is based on experience and negotiable. H1B sponsorship will be provided for qualified candidates.
